What Is Next For Battlefield?

What Is Next For Battlefield?

Battlefield 1 was a monster of a hit and it is still being supported via updates to this day, it seems like all the major updates that we are getting are out of the way and Dice are cooking something big for 2018, but what could it be?

There have been many rumors this week about a new Battlefield game coming in 2018, if you really dig deep, it actually sounds like two games could be in the works. The first rumor was that Battlefield Bad Company 3 was the game that would be released in 2018 and a popular YouTuber who “leaked” this information even made claims that it would have a Vietnam setting. This has been quite widely debunked since it was announced, but many people still feel that Bad Company 3 is in the works as we speak.

If it is not Battlefield Bad Company 3 then what is it? Well, it does seem like the next Battlefield game could be set during World War II. COD had phenomenal success with Call Of Duty WWII so it makes sense that Dice would be interested in making a game based on this. Plus with how good Battlefield 1 was, we would love to see this current team take a crack at WWII as we are sure they would do an amazing job.

No matter what kind of game we get, be it a WWII Battlefield or a return to the Bad Company series, it is almost certain that 2018 is going to see a new Battlefield game released!

Next For Call Of Duty After World War 2

What Next For Call Of Duty After World War 2?

While we have spent a lot of time playing the beta of Star Wars Battlefront 2. One of the main things that our modded PS4, Xbox One, and PC controllers are designed in mind with is, of course, Call Of Duty.

As we all know, Call Of Duty is at this point, weeks away and we are very excited for it. Many fans of the series were super stoked when Activision announced that they were going back to the series roots by setting the game during World War 2. Call Of Duty World War II is one of the most anticipated games in the series history, but where does Activision go from here?

The next Call Of Duty game for 2018 at this point will have been in the oven for at least a year, ready for the inevitable October/November release. But what could it be? Here at Mods “R” Us, we have asked around the office and one thing that is continuously brought up is the Vietnam War.

Some games have used the Vietnam War as their backdrop before, but we think a modern Call Of Duty set during this time period has the potential to be truly epic. We are not even talking about the multiplayer here! The storytelling in the Call Of Duty games the last decade has been incredible and setting a COD game during this time period could give it a Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Apocalypse Now kind of vibe.

We have a comments section down below and we would love to hear what kind of setting you would like to see in the next Call Of Duty game.

The History Of The Rainbow Six Part 1
The History Of The Rainbow Six Part 1

Today we are starting a new series where we look back at the Rainbow Six series. It might blow your mind when you realize that this series has been around since 1998!

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six (1998) Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PC, Sega Dreamcast

The first game to really make Tom Clancy a big deal in the world of video games (as he had been in other media) was the original Rainbow Six game. The game was first released on PC and then was ported to console via the PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and then a little later, the Sega Dreamcast.

It has been reported that for this game, Tom Clancy wanted a shooter that was more tactical based and required the player to think before they would shoot. The Rainbow team is an elite counter terrorism unit that is sent into various places to bring down a target and save hostages. For the time the story was pretty in depth, but these days it is probably seen as a bit simplistic.

It was the strategic gameplay that hooked many people. A mission can be completed in mere minutes, but this mission may have to be replayed over and over again. There is a lot of trial and error in Rainbow Six as the player tries to figure out what is the best way to go about completing a mission. Watching all your planning work out and the mission be successful is a great feeling.

At the time of the release the PC version was reviewed pretty well, but this kind of game was not something console gamers were used to and as a result, the console versions were not reviewed as well. Especially the Dreamcast version which many reviewers at the time said was a lazy port.

While it may seem basic by today’s standard, the original Rainbow Six is a real landmark video game and if you are interested in checking it out. The PlayStation version an actually be downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
