Overwatch's New Hero Is Baptiste

Overwatch's New Hero Is Baptiste

Overwatch really is the game that keeps on giving. They just dropped the full trailer for the brand new hero, Baptiste and as I write this if you are a PC Overwatch player you can test him out right now.

Baptiste has a really cool backstory in that he was a child who was made an orphan and homeless as a result of the Omnic Wars. He did what he had to do to survive including joining forces with the evil Talon. He grew up and realized this was wrong and that he could make the world a better place by doing the right thing. He really does sound quite heroic and I hope they explore his backstory in an event later this year.

As far as the way he plays, Baptiste is a support class character who is there to heal allies. While healing is his main thing he can also dish out some pretty good damage himself so I feel he could be a good character for people who are usually a little hesitant to play as a healer.

His special moves sound great and I have a feeling they might be a little too great. For example, his Regenerative Burst when activated releases a burst of energy that heals himself and nearby allies. What is cool about this is that once the burst hits a teammate they can then leave Baptiste's side and they will keep on being healed.

The Immortality Field is something I can see getting changed. This ability creates a force field that he and his teammates can be inside of. When inside this field it is impossible to die! It lasts around 8 seconds, but this could become very handy and in the right hands with a person who knows how to actually use it, this ability could be what decides many matches.

His Ultimate is the Amplification Matrix. When he puts this up anything that goes through it is doubled. This means things like D Vas rockets will do even more damage. Also, it doubles the effects of healing items too.

I think that he looks like he is going to be a really fun character to play as and hopefully, it will not be too long until he appears on Xbox One and Ps4.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Addresses Loot Box Controversy

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Addresses Loot Box Controversy

Call of Duty Black Ops IIII sneaked in some loot boxes recently in the form of their Reserve Crates. It was seen as a bit of a sleazy move by some and Treyarch were quick to point out that this was a “business decision” and something they had very little to do with. Hey, it is Activision so we should not have been shocked!

Anyway due to the huge negative outcry they went and made the way you get Reserve Crates a lot easier. The rate at which you can earn them has been slashed in half. It had been reported that you could have to play as much as two hours just to get one! Now though that has supposedly been cut in half.

Also before once, you got to level 100 in the Contraband Battle Pass System, you were out of luck as far as Reserve Crates went. Now though, you can keep earning them as you play. These are not groundbreaking, nor do they deserve a high five, a Pepsi and a Sub for doing this. However, at least they were quick to change once word got out that fans were not happy.

I think that Black Ops IIII is a great game, but even with these changes, their Reserve Crates are not something that I am going all out for. If I earn them as I play then so be it, but they will not get a single penny out of me for these and I hope that many other gamers act with their wallets too.

What To Expect From Apex Legends Battle Pass

What To Expect From Apex Legends Battle Pass

So far as I write this the only thing we know for sure about the Apex Legends Battle Pass is that it is coming. We know this thanks to the battle plan Respawn and EA posted online to showcase their plans for the first year of Apex Legends.

We know that the first season is starting in March. You would think that the Battle Pass could launch when this first season starts. There was a “leak” a week or so back that said Apex Legends would be following the Fortnite formula. By this, I mean that the Apex Legends Battle Pass will have two tiers for players to take part in.

There will be the free tier, but then there will be the paid tier and of course, it is up to the players if they want to pay to play or if they are cool just playing the game as a free to play game.

What will the Apex Legends Battle Pass contain? I think that the smart money is on Respawn trying to do a very similar thing to what Fortnite does. There is no point in them reinventing the wheel just for the sake of doing so. What Epic does with Fortnite works and it works well so I would expect to see a similar thing to that.

By that I mean things like skins, emotes and so on being given away for completing certain parts of the Battle Pass. With Apex Legend coming out swinging and really capturing people’s attention and with EA getting a lot of goodwill (for once) I could see them offering the Apex Legend Battle Pass for less than what Fortnite ask.
